BISS Multi Group placingGchB. Mallyree's Contessa at Pooles Ide CGC "Ava Gardner" (above)
Ava is co owned by Emily Pikul and Gregory Siner of Pooles Ide Irish Water Spaniels. She was our foundation. Ava has excelled in the show ring with her beautiful looks and fabulous personality. She is a joy to show and even more so to live with. She is a Multiple Group placer, 1st award of Excellence winner at Eukanuba, a Top Ten ranked Iws, and a Specialty winner.
Her first show she started out with a bang, Best of Breed over two top ranked specials, later on in the day she placed 3rd in a large Sporting group under Breeder Judge Patricia Leakey Brenner at 9 months old. Soon after she attended the National specialty where she was Best in Sweepstakes under judge Patricia Hess. She finished her championship with a very honorable Best of Winners for a 5 point major, under well respected judge Patricia Trotter.
In 2014 with two litters on the ground Ava was able to go out and show she still had it. In three weekends she garnered 40 grand champion points, a BISS, a BOSS to her brother and only walked from the ring once without a ribbon. Shown very selectively in 2015 and finished her Bronze Grand championship. Also in 2015 Ava was Best of Breed at the supported entry in Wine Country and Select Bitch at the prestigious Morris and Essex Kennel Club. Into 2017 Ava won 2 best veteran in sweepstakes and 2 first places at the national specialty in her veterans class at 8 years old. Like a fine wine she only got better with age.
On February 10, 2018 we put Ava to sleep. She had a very nasty Osteosarcoma on her fourth vertebrae of her spine between her shoulder blades. It was severely compromising her movement and comfort. She is terribly missed and she made a profound impact on everyone around her.
She was a CHIC certified Iws. For more information please visit the Orthopedic Foundation for animals website. You can also find her pedigree here.

Darla has just become old enough to show and she has garnered two puppy group 1s and 4 other placements. She also was Best in Sweepstakes at the Canadian National Specialty.
At our recent Iws gathering she was chosen as Best Puppy under Breed judge Betty Dalke Wathne mof Madcap IWS.
Darla attended American Spaniel Club. At the Regional friday she was Reserve winners bitch, being her first show with competition. Then at American Spaniel Club itself she was Best in Sweepstakes under judge Jason Lynn and Winners bitch for a 5 point major under judge Doug McFarlane.
Darla attended our Regional Specialty at Maryland Sporting on March 2nd and went Winners Bitch and Best of Winners for a 5 point major under judge Britt E Jung. She was also Best in Sweepstakes.
We took a trip back to Canada to finish Darla's championship and she finished in style, Reserve Best in show from the classes at one of Canada's largest shows! She won two groups and made the cut another day under an international panel of judges including Juan Miranda Saucedo and Michael Faulkner.
And to finish in style Darla went to the Wine Country specialties in September and finished by going Winners bitch and Best of Winners for another 5 point major at the supported entry under Eric Ringle. At the specialty the next day and all breed the day after she was Select bitch to her half sister for two 5 point Grand Champion majors.
Darla continues her winning ways and attends the Rattail Days match hosted by Greg Siner and brings home Best in Show! This was under Breeder judge Laurel Baglia of Navarone IWS. We couldn't be more thankful to Laurel for the appreciation and Greg for hosting this yearly event.
Darla ended the year as the #1 Iws in Canada! She was also ranked just out of the top ten in the states but only being shown two months
Being shown very sparingly Darla completed her Bronze Grand championship and just recently received a Group 4 under Doug Johnson in Raleigh, Nc 2021. She attended the National Specialty in Oklahoma this year and received an Award of Merit. She is #1 IWS bitch both systems in 2021! I am very excited to say that she finished #6 in the all breed standings being shown only three weekends in the year. As well as having a gorgeous litter of 4 puppies mid year.
At the 2022 National Specialty Darla was Best Brood bitch with her puppies from her first litter.
At the 2024 National specialty Darla and her friend June were Best Junior Handler, then she was Best Brood Bitch with Jax and Myna and she passed her first leg of her Fetch dog Novice.

Myna has been shown very sparingly and has already exceeded our expectations at her very young age. Her first point was Winners bitch, Best of Winners and Best of Breed for under Michael Faulkner.
Next came Maryland sporting dog weekend. She was Best Puppy in Match as a warm up under Mrs. Jennifer Pahl. And the next day she was Best in Sweeps, as well as Winners Bitch, Best of Winners, Best in specialty show and Best bred by Exhibitor under Kathy Lorentzen.
She showed one day in April and won the Puppy Group . She also had a fun time at the Clumber National passing her Canine Good Citizen test and a leg on her Akc Temperament Test. Then the weekend before the National specialty show she won the Bred by Group and a Group 3 from the classes under Nancy Simmons.
At the National Specialty Myna won her class in Sweepstakes under Michelle Cummings, a breeder judge. The next day she qualified for her first leg of her Fetch dog novice. And in the afternoon she won her bred by class, Winners Bitch and Award of Merit under Spaniel expert Doug Johnson of Clussexx Fame. This finished her Championship. We could not be more proud of the compliments from around the world from many people we respect.
We took the summer mostly off and played in the FasCat trial where she thoroughly enjoys herself. She qualified in 7 trials. We also went to Canada where Myna was WB and Bow at the Booster show, and Best of breed from the classes to bring home 5 points.
September she was Select at our local supported entry at 19 months old while watching her Brother and sister compete the other days.
November we went out to Fort Wayne Indiana for a lovely set of shows with a Sporting dog Group show. Myna was Best of Breed at the five shows and picked up a Huge group 4 in a group of Top Sporting dogs from all over the country under Kathy Lorentzen and finished her GCH.
And December we went to Orlando for the largest shows in the country. 5,000 a day and Myna was Best Bred by Exhibitor. She went on to compete in the Bred by Group making the cut under Bonnie Threfall. It was a huge honor.
She eneded 2024 with limited showing as #4 Breed and #5 all breed IWS and under two years of age.
2025- Myna had a wonderful year with a few shows a month she continued to grow up and show the fancy her Iws type. She had multiple group placements, won another group under Sandra Lex, won the Breed at Westminster before the age of 2 under Kathy Lorentzen, won the Supported entry at Maryland Sporting, did the NYC Meet the Breeds, as well as the Judges Education in Lousiville Kentucky, She also was Award of Merit at Morris and Essex and a beautiful group placement at the Sporting Group show on Indiana. In Canada Myna went up two weekends and finished her Champoinship with a group placement from the classes, 6 best of breeds in 8 shows and 4 group placements making her the #1 IWS in Canada and #3 IWS breed and all breed in the USA
2026- Myna has already picked up many breed wins with lots of points, a Group 3 and Select Bitch at Westminster.
